HecRAS,
weir equation,
"zero ht." weir
Hager's eqn.
|
A user was unsure about how to handle a new feature in RAS 4.0,
namely, modeling a "zero height" weir for a lateral structure.
He thought the standard weir equation might be modified, but
did not have reference information.
|
A HecRAS support team member emailed him the following
references, which document what RAS is doing--
in particular, the use of Hager's equation for zero height weirs.

HecHMS,
runtime error
|
A large watershed dataset that had run fine in HecHMS 3.1 would not
successfully run in the updated version 3.2, but produced an error
message (as follows). "ERROR 10000: Unknown exception or error;
restart HEC-HMS to continue working. Contact HEC for assistance."
|
The HecRAS support team contacted HEC and it was determined that
the new version 3.2 had a memory problem that HEC needed to fix.
HEC provided a beta version to NRCS and scheduled the next release
to include this fix.

HecRAS,
schematic,
GIS Tools
|
In RAS 4.0, Geometric Data Editor, when choosing Edit, Move Object,
and attempting to move a cross-section line, the user had all other
cross-sections disappear, and was unable to retrieve them.
|
RAS version 4.0 changes the way cross-sections can be moved in the
Geometric Data Editor, by introducing a new pulldown menu:
GIS Tools. To successfully move a cross-section, the user must first
choose GIS Tools, GIS Cut Lines, Accept Displayed Locations (As
GeoReferenced)...". Then Edit, Move Object can successfully be used
to move cross-sections in the schematic.
