Error Checking
Error checking occurs as data is read in and during the internal data preparation. Checks for acceptable characters based
on data field type (Alphanumeric, integer, logical, and floating point); numeric data within acceptable range; and inter-field
relationships on a single input record are made as data is read. Checks for inter-record relationships and identifier
comparisons between data section header groups are performed after all data is read. Appropriate error messages are placed
in the error file when errors are encountered.
