These files are in .gif, .dwg, .dxf, .doc, or .exe (self-extracting
compressed) formats. Some web browsing software interprets the dwg
and dxf extensions as normal text and tries to display it to your screen.
You may need to provide your browsing software with the correct
information in order to either view dwg or dxf types with the appropriate
software i.e. Autocad, or to save the files to your hard disk.
By default, Mosaic will allow dwg files to be saved to disk. Netscape
tends to want to show the dwg file as text. To fix this, go to the "Helpers"
section of "General Preferences" under the "Options" main menu item.
Create a new mime type with the type being "Applications" and the sub-type
being "dwg". Have it use the file extention of dwg and choose "save to disk"
or link it to a dwg veiwer (if available) for the action to be performed.
The exe files are compressed versions of the dxf file types.
Some of these files are rather large and should be downloaded with a fast
communications link. Check the information file before downloading to see
the file size or download the gif file which is a smaller
representation of it's larger version.
